Vila Matilde (SP) — The Seventh-day Adventist Church – Reform Movement of Vila Matilde, belonging to the Sudoeste Paulista Association (ASPA), of the Sudoeste Union, promoted a Health Fair on June 28 that benefited over 60 people in the community. The initiative brought together free care and educational activities focused on promoting health and quality of life, highlighting the church's commitment to serving others.
During the program, 50 participants completed the entire care circuit, receiving full follow-up in the areas offered. Other people only did the initial screening, using services such as blood pressure measurement, glucose testing, and weight evaluation.
The action provided medical care, nutritional guidance, psychological support, iridology, blood pressure measurement, and glucose testing, providing participants with important information about prevention and health care.
As a closing to the program, a healthy cooking course was held, which sparked the interest of many participants, encouraging changes in habits and reinforcing the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
The community's response was marked by gratitude and recognition. One of the organizers highlighted the participants' receptivity:
"I thought it was incredible the feedback from the people. Everyone was extremely happy, praising and thanking."
Another volunteer emphasized the spiritual and social impact of the initiative:
"It was rewarding. I'm sure Christ was represented and the church was very well seen by the neighborhood."
The Health Fair reaffirmed the church's purpose of serving the community through practical actions, bringing care, hope, and strengthening ties with the region's residents.
