Last Saturday afternoon, July 4, 2026, the Seventh-day Adventist Reform Movement Church of Carapicuíba, part of the Sudoeste Paulista Association (ASPA), which is under the Sudoeste Brazilian Union, carried out the Drive Thru Prayer Project for the first time in the Alphaville region, in Barueri (SP). The initiative had the important support of the Missionary Department and the Board of the Sudoeste Paulista Association (ASPA), making possible an evangelistic action that brought hope, spiritual comfort, and Christian literature to the community.
The team set up a missionary tent and carefully signaled the location to receive those who wanted a prayer. Even before the setup was complete, people were approaching spontaneously, showing their desire to seek God amidst the activities and challenges of daily life.
Each person was received with cordiality and encouragement to reserve a moment to strengthen their communion with the Lord. Then, the volunteers asked if there was any special prayer request and, with reverence, presented those needs to God, entrusting each cause and each heart to Him. At the end of each service, the participants were given missionary books and, in several cases, also received a copy of the Holy Bible.
In just a few hours of activity, the project reached over 50 people, serving 18 cars, 9 motorcycles, and dozens of pedestrians who requested prayer. Additionally, the team responded to a special invitation to visit a newsstand at the end of the program, where they held a moment of prayer with the employees.
Several testimonies marked the missionary action, revealing God's work through a simple but deeply significant ministry. Among them, a family stood out who, upon seeing the tent from a distance, decided to return to participate in the Drive Thru Prayer. The wife, very emotional, said she had never seen a similar initiative in Alphaville and that the day coincided with her 29th birthday.
With tears in her eyes, she shared her dream of becoming a mother before the age of 30 and asked the team to pray for that desire and for her family. After the prayer, she was told that it would be a great joy to receive her in the future at the church to present her child to the Lord. Emotionally, she revealed that if she had a boy, his name would be Samuel, in reference to the biblical story of Hannah.
At the end of the program, the participants gathered for a gratitude worship service, thanking God for the opportunities given and the lives reached. The experience was considered a great success and awakened the desire to carry out the project periodically, expanding the reach of the gospel message.
The Seventh-day Adventist Reform Movement Church thanks God for each contact made and remains in prayer that all who participated in this initiative will be led by the Holy Spirit and feel the call to remain at the feet of the Savior.
