On July 5, 2026, the Seventh-day Adventist Reform Movement Church, through the local church of Perpétuo Socorro, part of the Campo Missionário Amapaense (CAMAP), in the União Norte-Nordeste Brasileira (UNNE), carried out a food collection in the Novo Horizonte neighborhood, in Macapá (AP). The activity had the participation of most of the church's teenagers, who dedicated themselves to collecting donations for families in vulnerable situations.
The initiative was coordinated by Sister Léa Castro, responsible for the Social Assistance Department of the Perpétuo Socorro church, in partnership with Sister Léa Cardoso, responsible for the same department of the Campo Missionário Amapaense (CAMAP).
The action reaffirmed the church's commitment to serving the community and provided the teenagers with a valuable experience of practical evangelism.
Among the various moments experienced during the program, a testimony moved the participants. When asking for a contribution at a grocery store in the neighborhood, one of the volunteers was surprised by the generosity of the establishment's owner. After asking her to wait for a few moments, the merchant returned with several food items, gathering almost a complete basic basket.
“I left there very grateful. It was the first time this happened to me,” reported the volunteer, highlighting the joy of witnessing the sensitivity and solidarity spirit of that family.
More than the collection of food, the initiative strengthened the faith of the participants and showed that God continues to prepare people to cooperate with His work. The significant involvement of the teenagers demonstrated that the new generation is willing to serve, becoming an instrument of hope and Christian love in the community.
The Seventh-day Adventist Reform Movement Church continues to encourage actions that unite faith and service, fulfilling the mission of announcing the gospel also through care for others and the practice of solidarity.
