Sergipe — From July 3 to 5, the Sergipe Missionary Field (CAMISE) held the Social Assistance Seminar with the theme "Arise and Shine". The event brought together brothers from various locations in moments of communion, training, and spiritual strengthening, highlighting the importance of Christian service as a practical expression of God's love.
The program included moments of praise, Bible studies, and training sessions aimed at those responsible for social assistance work in CAMISE churches. The activities aimed to provide practical guidance and deepen understanding of the role of social assistance in fulfilling the Church's mission.
Among the invited participants was Vocal Aliança, from the city of Quixadá (CE), who contributed with musical moments during the meeting. The biblical messages were presented by missionary Elizeu Amorim, director of the Social Assistance Department of the North-Northeast Brazil Union (UNNE), who led reflections based on Scripture about the Church's call in the face of societal needs.
The seminar's theme was based on Isaiah 60:1: "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you". The biblical passage guided reflections on the call for the Church to be an instrument of hope, welcome, and transformation through service to others.
During the event, three main messages were presented: on Friday, "God's Plan for His Church in the New Testament"; on Saturday, "Satan's Plan"; and on Sunday, "God's Plan for His Church Today".
The Sunday morning program was dedicated to training the social assistance departmentals of CAMISE churches. The training covered three topics: "Social Rights and Social Security", presented by social security lawyer Gisele Batista; "Social Assistance and Assistentialism", taught by social worker and director of the CAMISE Social Assistance Department, Marlene Andrade; and "Preparing the Church for Work", led by missionary Elizeu Amorim.
At the end of the training, participants received certificates and gifts in recognition of their involvement in seeking knowledge and preparation for developing the ministry's activities.
The Social Assistance Seminar was closed with gratitude to God for the moments experienced and with encouragement for participants to continue serving with love, dedication, and sensitivity, allowing Christ's light to be reflected through their actions.
The initiative was promoted by the Sergipe Missionary Field (CAMISE), with the support of the North-Northeast Brazil Union (UNNE), aiming to strengthen the preparation of leaders involved in social assistance in local churches and expand Christian action in favor of human needs.
