ITABUNA (BA) — The city of Itabuna received, on July 12, 2026, a large Humanitarian Mission, promoted by the Good Samaritan project, of the Bahian Association (ABA), belonging to the Central Brazilian Union. The initiative offered free care in the areas of health, legal assistance, personal care, and spiritual support, benefiting dozens of families and demonstrating, in practice, the Christian commitment to the well-being of the community.
Held at the Professor Adeum Hilário Sauer Integral Time School, with the support of the Itabuna City Hall, the action recorded 48 registered forms and 141 treatments distributed among various specialties.
Among the services provided, 37 nursing treatments, 30 general medical consultations, 30 dental treatments, 30 pastoral counseling, 20 haircuts, 10 physiotherapy treatments, 9 psychological treatments, and 2 legal treatments were performed.
The work had a large team of volunteers, coordinated by Waldyr Moura, involving health professionals, students, lawyers, barbers, reception team, nursing, children's space, kitchen, cleaning, media, and logistical support. The integrated work of all collaborators ensured organization, welcome, and humanized care throughout the program.
In addition to physical care, the mission also offered pastoral counseling and a children's space, providing comfort, hope, and moments of attention to the families present.
The Humanitarian Mission reaffirms the Church's commitment to serving society in a comprehensive manner, following Christ's example, who united care for physical needs with the announcement of eternal hope.
